Navigating the Path from Major Label to Independent Success. After a successful collaboration for Duzoe’s debut album „watchmeburn“ (Universl Music), I transitioned into a more comprehensive role for the follow-up album „Fantasia“. We both were operating independently of a label structure and I took full responsibility for the product and marketing management.
The campaign was built on the artist’s core values: Radical self-acceptance through radical honesty. My goal was to translate this musical message into measurable success without diluting the essence of the artist brand.
Strategic Management & Funding
A key milestone was securing funding from Initative Musik, for which I developed the conceptual narrative, the release strategy, and the formal application text. This independent setup required a precise marketing vision: From Major to Indie – with a clear strategic management approach, we proved that chart success and media relevance are fully achievable independet of traditional label structures. I coordinated the entire ecosystem from distribution partners to promotion agencies – ensuring that the album achieved significant impact. From securing federal funding to placements in major outlets like the ARD Mediathekt and entering the Top 50 charts.
Fan Activation & Impact
The campaign resulted in a #43 chart entry and high-profile media coverage, including interviews with industry legend Falk Schacht for n-joy. This sucess was deeply rooted in the strength of the community. For me, this project exemplifies what modern music management looks like: Marketing management means translating an artist’s musical message into measurable results while protecting the creative core of the brand.
